This is a pretty interesting question, because we have to persuade ourselves to think about our society today and how it has changed during the latest centuries.
In my opinion are there definitely things in Brave New World that became true, but there are other things that have developed quite different then Huxley has predicted.
The government has developed quite different then Huxley predicted. In Brave New World the whole system is based on a powerful and totalitarian government, which controlled almost everybody by conditioning, the people are only doing things they are supposed to do.
This prophecy was probably based on the system in the Soviet Union, but like we all know this system has failed and the possibility of another totalitarian government that would be able to control the whole world is far away from reality.
The ills of assembly line like Huxley predicted hasn’t come true neither. Today for instance, more and more companies are attaching importance to innovation and creativity of its own workers, first of all the Toyota Company with the “Keizen” system. The Keizen system is a continuous improvement of processes in manufacturing, engineering, supporting business processes, which involves all employees. So even the “little” assembly line worker is supposed to improve the products by handing in his proposals. This system has proved as pretty profitable and has been copied by other companies like Daimler, where I’ve seen it on my own. Today we have an increasing number of knowledge workers rather than workers who perform only simple manual tasks.
Emotions aren’t banished from our society, we still have plenty of them, that’s why we are often reacting uncontrolled and that’s one reason why wars are possible. So it is happening that we are acting out of our emotional state of mind and not like we are actually supposed to be out of our sanity. So I don’t want to
