Teachers that stray away from common teaching practices vs teachers who stick to the curriculum
Has a teacher inspired you lately ? This topic is particularly interesting to me because it directly effects the entire country and how the world views the united states. Education in the school system is under major scrutiny because people view it as a falling system. I agree with them fully but what i don't agree with is who is to blame. I directly blame the parents and teachers all across america. Yes, its a blood statement but no matter how many times the country changes the way we teach america will not get better without taking steps early on to inspire and motivate kids.

Teacher that inspire students are the ones that should be on the forefront of education reform because most of those reachers have changed the curriculum or changed the context of the subject that there teaching to allow opinions of students and open discussions that a Teacher who follows the curriculum wouldn't have the time for. Having open ended diction about topics that are related to the subject being taught inspires creativity in the classroom. So now the student is inspired to learn and is curious about the subject and will seek out knowledge to be more informed. This teaching method can also be morphed day to day based on the live feed back your getting from the students as opposed to the results of a test that will only give data after its graded. This allows the feed back of a individual student to be heard and have a effective change. Controversial subjects can and should be debated in the class room because thats where the fundamentals of society are taught and students should be able tom express there opinion to others who don't necessarily agree. Allowing them to discuss and possibly find a common ground to agree on can influence that student forever. Assessments are harder to do with this method of teaching because the student can be a well informed and knowledgeable about the subject but might have test anxiety. “The system of education rewards high GPA but the system of life rewards tenacity, rewards your urge to tackle something you've never seen before and succeed and even if you don't succeed in that tenacity, to have the energy to go back and try again knowing how to fail these are thing the most successful people have going for them.”-Neil degrees
