The industrial revolution changed a lot of things and helped us throughout the years. Before the industrial revolution started, people made things they needed, like on the farm by hand. According to National Geographic, before the industrial revolution, most people in Europe worked either as farmers or artisans making hand-crafted goods. The ways in which people lived have not changed significantly since the Middle Ages. Once industrialization began, however, work and family life would be transformed forever.
