For both civilizations, they both had beliefs, ways of living and leaders. Egyptians and Mesopotamian people all had the same religion, called the polytheistic religion. This means they believed in many gods, and they were always trying to keep the gods happy. The Egyptians had a certain way of living which included different jobs and, depending on that job, you were put into a category. For example, if you’re an average Egyptian you worked all day long, but if you were a king or queen you didn’t work much. Mesopotamia’s way of living was just work all the time for everyone, and they didn’t really get any days off or breaks. Both also had different leaders, which for Egyptians, it was a pharaoh, and he had overall power over everything that happened. For Egyptians, their government was run by the king who was ruled by a mandate from the gods. So, this means that they had different ways to tell if the gods accepted something or rejected it and, so, it depended on what the gods said about a situation, law,etc. For Mesopotamia, on the other hand, their government was structured around the family model, with the king and priests as the head of the household and responsible for everything. They didn’t necessarily have a big government, they just had a small government for every family, and it was the priests and kings that were in charge of each
