Although copious individuals see him as a heartless war mongrel, Napoleon Bonaparte enhanced both France and modern society in countless ways, and his name will live on in textbooks and in the hearts of many for all eternity. He overthrew France’s weak monarchy and replaced it with a much stronger, centralized governmental system. All students in his schools were taught the sciences, plus modern and classical languages (“Hero”). Napoleon offered education to everyone without discriminating. He even created schools in order to offer equal education for all, thus illustrating his true passion for equal education that could be offered to all people. The schools that Napoleon founded and erected were very prestigious and held in high regards. Many even outperformed other European universities (“Hero”). This showed that not only did he trifle value equal education. He valued it enough to make his schools far superior to other European universities in more than stature alone. This, again, illustrates Napoleon’s care for education. In addition, the text states, “In 1806, Napoleon emancipated Jews, (as well as Protestants in Catholic countries and Catholics in Protestant countries), from laws restricting them to ghettos, expanding their rights to property, worship, and careers” (“Hero”).
