Why is Photography Art? Introduction Life is filled with many fun filled moments, beautiful surprises, and an inspiring world that cause people to show many emotions. These emotions can be shown to others through many different ways. Emotions can be personal or like photography can be shown to others by the act of creating a picture. Photography was invented during the first three decades of the 19th century as technology advanced in the study of chemistry (the science of the behavior of light). The word “photography” comes from two Greek words that mean “writing with light.” Photography is a form of art because it expresses many emotions through pictures. The act of capturing pictures can amazingly be transformed into a masterpiece. Photography has cultural significance because photography can be shown through family traditions such as birthdays and holidays, can show artistic creativity and photography can express many emotional feelings such as happiness, or anger.
What is Photography? Photography is the art or process of producing images by the action of radiant energy and especially light on a sensitive surface. Photography can be private or public; it’s up to the photographer. A person may choose to take or create photos that interest them or that others may call, masterpieces. Some may choose take on photography as a career or it can be ones hobby. Photography could also function as a form of expression. One can let their personality be shown by how unique one becomes with this form of art.
