How Is Romeo And Juliet Real
Although Romeo was thought to be so in love with Rosaline, I think that his love for Juliet is real. At the beginning of the play, Romeo was heartbroken over Rosaline but as soon as he saw Juliet at the party, everything changed. Juliet made him feel something very different from the moment he laid his eyes on her. He also expresses and proves his love for Juliet throughout the play. On the other hand we may say that Romeo seemed to be very in love with Rosaline and moved on from her fairly quickly, so might think he would do the same with Juliet. I still come to believe that Romeo’s love for Juliet is real. Romeo had gone to the Capulet party to make Rosaline fall in love with him, but he caught a glimpse of Juliet and instantly fell in love with her. He asked himself if he had ever even felt love before that moment. He lost all thought of Rosaline the moment he saw Juliet. Juliet had made him feel something he had never felt before and he knew at that moment that he loved her. He knew he had to get to know her and kiss her. Even when finding out they were from opposing families, Romeo still wanted to pursue what he felt for Juliet and doesn’t care …show more content…
For example, the first night Romeo and Juliet meet, Romeo accidently goes into the garden by Juliet’s garden and he begins to admire her beauty. He does not want to leave Juliet and does not care if the guards happen to catch him. He begins to express his love to Juliet.Another example is the fact that he is risking everything because they are from opposing families. He could get in a heap of trouble just because he talked to juliet but he has been looking way past that. The greatest example that shows Romeo’s love for Juliet is real is when he drinks poison to kill himself so he won’t have to live without Juliet. In conclusion, Romeo shows us how much he really does love Juliet throughout the

We all know bowling, with modern technology, but have you ever used a lopsided ball to ‘kiss’ jacks? Maybe even heard of fighting roosters with blades attached to their feet. You can see how strange and unusual the sports they played back then were, but to them it was a popular form of entertainment for all. In this Elizabethan Era is when sports just started to become popular with players, and spectators (Alchin "Elizabethan Sports"). Many of Elizabethan era sports were dangerous and violent, one even watching trained bulldogs kill a bull. Three of the main sport categories were blood, team, and individual sports. These inhumane sports were considered ‘blood sports’ due to the blood and gore (Davis Life in Elizabethan days 2007). The spectators…

I do not think that the love between Romeo and Juliet will last because Romeo was supposedly in love with Rosaline the same day that he fell in love with Juliet. The Friar says in Act 2, Scene 3 “God pardon sin! Wast thou with Rosaline?” and then Romeo says that he has already forgot about Rosaline “With Rosaline, my ghostly Father? No. I have forgot that name and that name’s woe.” If Romeo forgets Rosaline that fast wont he just forget Juliet for the next girl he sees.…

Romeo is an over emotional, possibly mentally ill individual with unnecessary love for women. He needs to learn how to control his emotions and take things slower. Also, Romeo was not in love with Rosaline nor Juliet; Romeo rather is in love with being in love itself. He loves to love, be loved, be over emotional, and also other things that come with being in love that don’t need to be mentioned. For the majority of her life, Juliet will have no choice in who she loves due to the time period and because of the isolation on Juliet by the parents. The only men that she has ever met or has had a chance with were men that her parents (especially her mother) picked out for her. Romeo and Juliet are not in love because Romeo is too emotional and Juliet was just looking for an escape from the clutches of her parents; William Shakespeare is trying to trick the reader into thinking that Romeo and Juliet are in love because he wants to show the reader how many millions of people are not in love with whom they are with, but simply with being in love itself; William Shakespeare is also be showing that there is no love at first site relative to the time…

Everyone in their lifetime desires the comfort of a friend, but will settle for the attentive ear of a stranger. In the novel, Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck shows how lonely people were during the 1930’s. He teaches a grim lesson about the nature of human existence, and how the characters in the story had to admit at one time or another to having a profound sense of loneliness and isolation. Although each character had their own secluded troubles, Curley’s wife, Crooks, and Candy, suffered the most from loneliness.…

Is Romeo really deep in love with Juliet? Or is it merely infatuation? Romeo loves Rosaline, and allegedly Juliet is not ready to marry, but in the course of one climatic evening, both those statements become false. It is indisputable that throughout Romeo And Juliet, William Shakespeare shows on multiple occasions that Romeo and Juliet are both experiencing “puppy love” and not true love.…

There is an instant connection between fated lovers. For that reason, one can say that Romeo's love for Rosaline is not ever lasting. This is clear when Romeo says: "With Rosaline! My ghostly Father, no. I have forgot that name, and that name's woe" (Act 2, scene 3: 46-47). This quote states that Romeo used to be madly in love with Rosaline. However, he has completely forgotten about her as his heart goes out to Juliet. This quote is significant as it proves that Romeo has moved on from his first love. This statement demonstrates how Shakespeare characterizes love--to be momentary. Not only does Romeo's love for Rosaline reveal love to not be infinite but so do the following relationships.…

There’s this thing people like to call “fickle or puppy” love. That’s when two people think that they love each other but it’s nothing real. Shakespeare showed this kind of love in two instances in the play. One with Paris’ love for Juliet and the other is Romeo’s love for Rosaline. Although Paris went to Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet, to ask for her hand in marriage, Juliet didn’t really care for him. Initially, when Paris asked to marry Juliet, Capulet gave him permission too as long as Juliet agreed as well. But when Paris went to him again, he then changed it and said that Juliet was going to marry him. Now, Rosaline is the woman Romeo was “in love” with. Rosaline had sworn off boys and sex, which had left Romeo no chances with her. Up until the night of the ball, Romeo was moping over. During the conversation he had with Benvolio, Benvolio was trying to talk Romeo into “exploring his options”. “By giving liberty into thine eyes; examine other beauties.” (Act 1, Scene i). When Romeo had seen Rosaline’s name on the list of invitees to Capulet’s feast, he was so gunho to attend the feast just to see her. But once he laid eyes on the beautiful Juliet, his feelings for Rosaline really didn’t matter anymore.…

Before meeting Romeo, Juliet is naive young girl who is dependent on her family. In the beginning of the play, marriage is the furthest thing on Juliet’s mind. As a matter of fact, before she meets Romeo, Juliet had never been in love or even had a crush. When Juliet's mother, Lady Capulet, comes in to tell her about the nobleman Paris's proposal and asks her “Can you like of Paris, love?” (1.3.98). Juliet is surprised but she politely replies, “I’ll look like if looking liking move. / But no more deep will I endart mine eye / Than your consent gives strength to make it fly” (1.3.103-105). By saying that she won’t let herself fall for Paris anymore than her mother’s permission allows, shows that Juliet is very dependent on her mother and obeys her. Because she has never been in love before this does not seem like big deal to her. Juliet does not know anything about true love until she meets Romeo.…
