Despite the fact of Shakespeare coming from the 16th century and being titled outdated by some critics, he also paved the way for many other writers, directors, artists, and all types of creators worldwide. The majority of opposing opinionists would argue that Shakespeare has no place in modern times because of the outmoded language used in his poems and plays, plus his easily solvable plots, only if used in today’s setting. I disagree with both and consider his work timeless and a piece of history that needs to be stuck around. Shakespeare’s work not only led the way for others, but also the themes used,most notably love and vengeance, are still used commonly today. The characters are closely relatable to modern humans today, too, but must just had noble status. Shakespeare’s popularity emerged during the 16th and early 17th century, and the fact that it still has relevance today is amazing. Shakespeare’s art is studied by students, interpreted by actors of all types of film and theater, plus the dialogue in his poems and plays are still analyzed today. Different directors had tried bringing these plays back to life, such as Romeo and Juliet. Some interpretations of the play, like Franco Zeffirelli’s,displays the play as close as they can get it to the actual thing. Others, like Baz Luhrmann’s adaption of the play captured a more modern feel and still made the story one to be viewed. The amount of adaptations of this film alone are ridiculous, and that comes to show how William Shakespeare has created his own timeless
