How Is Society Like Fahrenheit 451

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a society without books? Well if you have Farenheit 451 is the book for you. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a book about society and how you need to have individuality and books to have a full happy life. In Montag's society you can’t read, walk, or talk without being considered “weird”, If you are caught reading you are thrown in jail. And your books and all of your things in your home will be burned. “...while the flapping pigeon-winged books died on the porch” All of this adds to the ignorance of people and the people not thinking and adding to the dystopia.
In Montag's society you can’t talk. Talking is looked down upon and then you are singled out by the people and you won’t have any what this society calls “friends” . That is why Clarisse and her family were considered strange “ Laughter blew across the moon-colored lawn from the house of Clarisse and her father and mother and the uncle who smiled so quietly and earnestly. This added to why they disappeared. Bradbury wanted us to know that without talking there would be no thinking. And without that thinking the world will become like the city in Fahrenheit 451 a place without joy or emotions. And a place you don’t want to live in or be a part of.

It is a book about the social misgivings of being ignorant and unknowledgeable. It is a book that in it’s time was banned just liked it warned. When Bradbury wrote this I don’t think he wrote it just for the fun or for people to be entertained. He wanted people to be informed that without books your government could do what they want. That without you being an individual you would be unhappy and you would just go through the motions of life. He wanted to warn us so that this scenario would never happen. That a society without books, a society without talking, a society without individualism, is not a good society to live in or be a part
