Second, Mildred is also acting robotic. She has become mind-numbed to society and life. An example is when she just started cleaning and tidying everything up when Captain Beatty came to the house. She doesn’t care about anything. Like when she forgot to tell Montag that Clarisse died. I think Mildred is unfeeling because she doesn’t want her feeling pain, or regret. She doesn’t want to get hurt so she doesn’t care about anything.
