There are some who believe this is because the author of the book of John did not believe it to be significant. The author of John believed the birth of Jesus occurred in heaven in the presence of God who then sent him into the world in human form. In the book of John, the author explains, “He was with God in the beginning” (John 1: 2 NIV). This tells us that Jesus has always been just as God has always been.
The book of John does not give details about exorcisms performed by Jesus as the other gospels do (Harris, 2014). There is no record of Jesus’ baptism, no record of temptation by Satan, moreover, the return of Jesus following his crucifixion is not detailed the same in the book of John. The author believed that Jesus is a spiritual presence that is ever present, meaning he did not leave for a period following his crucifixion as the other Synoptic Gospels
