Islam’s Spreading
Islam is a religion that only believed in one god and it wasn’t too common in that time period so they found a way by spreading Islam. There had to be someone who started the spread of Islam and his name was Prophet Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad is a man who was born in
Makkah and was an orphan. He was a patient and generous man who wanted to spread his religion. The ways he spread his religion was by military conquest, trade routes, and political order. Trading was one of the most common things to do in early Arabia. The three main cities that are easy to reach by trade routes are Medina, Aden, and Alexandria. Trading was mostly in the Byzantine and Persian Empires. The trade routes on Doc. A are not the only trade routes, there was also India, Spain, China, and Africa. Although, I still didn’t state why it helped Islam spread. It does help Islam spread because if you were to be a nomad and start to trade to several cities, you might stop and settle there and talk about your religion which for them, was Islam.
During military conquest, many people were building territories in the Islamic World.
Arabians would take over peoples’ territories and make them their own. There were many different campaigns built in different areas. For example, there was Mecca, Jerusalem, Cairo,
Baghdad, Saragossa, and many more. There were territories added by the first four caliphs and the Umayyad caliphs as Doc. C says. Document C shows how Islam spread so fast because when the caliphs would build territories at certain places, they would talk about Islam.
The last reason why Islam spread so fast was through political order. There was something called the Ordinances of Government and people would take that as an order and follow all the statements it said, but there was something also called the Pact which was an arrangement often made by Muslim rulers that permitted conquered Christians, Jews, and other
