We also learn that many of the richest, most famous, and most successful people in history are often linked by certain factors that can be traced back to the reason for their successes. The novel is broken down into two sections detailing traits and components that helped pave the way for the ultra-successful. Three generations back, Warren Buffett's great-grandfather hit it big. Sidney Buffett's story is not unlike Louis and Regina Borgenicht's story. In Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers: The Story of Success Gladwell shows the influence that parents actions will have on their children. Louis and Regina Borgenicht were poor Jewish immigrants, trying to make a living in the big apple. Through wits, force, and hard work they built a garment industry large enough to support their family. It wasn't much at the time, but it gave their kids the boost they needed to get a head start in life. And these weren't the only garment makers in New York either. The couples that worked hard to make it work were rewarded when their children and sometimes grandchildren made it big. The majority of their descendants grew up to be successful doctors or lawyers. Sidney grew up with a poor family and hit it off big with a well-timed grocery store. This success led Sidney's son Ernest to great wealth, but even so he learned from his father's example he remained a strict miser. Ernest's son, Howard Buffett, decided to leave the family business and tried to make his way with journalism. However, he didn't inherit his father's strict work regiment and when things went south he gave up and became an investor. But then the Great Depression hit and that's when Warren Buffett entered the…

A major theme in my life is improvement. I challenge myself to take risks and set high expectations for myself. For instance, I strive to run faster and for longer distances every couple of times I approach the treadmill belt. I am obstinate about my minimum distance, 2.2 miles, and my minimum speed, 6.8. A major component of improving myself is learning. Every new word is a miniscule enhancement of my massive English vocabulary pool, but it is still a step in the right direction. I enjoy becoming more knowledgeable in both domestic and international affairs. I wish I could have more time to pour into reading current event and health articles. I am particularly attached to drumming the latest scientific discovery or innovate biotechnology product…
