Because of this, I believe that women are individuals who have a say in their own bodies and should be given the choice if they would like to keep their child. Their rights must be respected and their voices should be heard. Every time when I turn on the TV, there are famous beauty commercials such as Dove and Aerie, that launch campaigns to promote “real beauty” where photos have not been retouched and women do not wear makeup. This act of defining “real beauty” focused on making women feel good about themselves and I was very inspired by these commercials because what women saw truly opened their eyes to a world where everyone is beautiful in their own unique, special way. Because of this, Aerie and Dove products gained more popularity. Under this principle of deontology, these companies truly believed that they were doing the right thing based on their actions by spreading positive messages to young women about how to appreciate what they look like.
