Children of Illegal Immigrants Deserve An Education
An illegal immigrant is a defined as a person who migrates across national borders in a way that violates the immigration laws of the destination country. Illegal immigration is a big problem that affects all {some capitalization errors. make sure that you proofread before turning it in. i will not fix them in your entire paper but I do notice them. } Aamericans in one way or another. U.S citizens have disadvantages if they have at least one undocumented parent. Children of illegal immigrants should be treated equally as other american students because we should be entitled to get an education.

The article by Ross Sherman and Hugo Ibarra titled “Being Here, But Not Here, is a story about how the immigration policy affected one girl’s potential, as an illegal immigrant from Mexico. She was denied educational opportunities. Jacqueline arrived in the U.S at the age of 2 ½ with her parents and her older brother. She crossed the border illegally in pursuit of a better life and employment opportunities. She was determined to graduate and continue with her education. During middle school she had college in her mind and knew that education would improve her quality of life. “An estimated 65,000 undocumented students graduate from high school in the U.S every year. Out of the population , only 5% to 10%continue their education in a higher education institution”(Sherman Ibarra 40). Undocumented students can attend college, but immigration laws would keep them from the working once finished their desired degree. There has been many protesters that show how they feel about illegal immigrants getting the proper education in America. They believe that if these kids want an education, they should get it in their own country. In the article entitled “Are Children of Illegal Immigrants Entitled to A Public Education”, states that “Most people are against free public education for children of illegal immigrants because they feel it is unfair to kids who were born here or came here legally. They think it is unfair because they have to work extremely hard to pay the bills and expenses, then having money taken away from them at the end of the year for a public education of children who should not be here” (Are Children 3).The thing is only some of the money that is taken away at the end of the year goes to the public schools. Children of illegal immigrants are capable of many things and are part of a good future.This is why we should be given the opportunity to improve our future. Not only for the benefit of our future but for our future kids too. If we get a good education we can also help our kids with their studies. Many kids struggled to get help from their parents on homework because their parents didn’t attend school mainly because they couldn’t afford
