How has stress affected your life? Stress has had a major impact on my life. The major stressors in my life are school, the home where I live and my Mom’s health.

Stress related to school has affected my life. Firstly, assignments from my classes stress me out. For example this five paragraph essay has stressed me out. The stress of assignments has made it impossible to think straight so I end up making poor decisions like skipping classes. Secondly, the length between classes stresses me out. For example if this class finishes at 11 am and I don’t have a class till one it stresses me out. The length of time between classes stresses me out because if I’m idle for too long then I usually get into some trouble. Lastly the homework stresses me out. This stresses me out because it is an unrealistic expectation to have because we are there to learn life skills. Secondly, my roommates stress me out. For example, my roommates are always trying to make me pick sides of an argument. This stresses me out because it is not fair for me to have to mediate the argument when that’s what staff is for. Thirdly, the policies stress me out. For example, the hands off policy stresses me out. The hands off policy stresses me out because when I’m upset I need tactile stimulation and feel safe by hugging staff and when I can’t do that it causes my stress to go through the roof. Since I had all of my core classes my last semester of junior year, it would be quite similar to what I would be experiencing my first semester of senior year. Though still anxious, I went into senior year not expecting all that earth-shattering of a workload. I would have been right had I taken into account senior project and college applications. On their own, my classes presented not much of an increase from junior year as far as work and stress, however; compiled with my other two major obligations, and suddenly I found a dramatic shift in my stress levels. I have never been one to be overwhelmed by school work, but often times when I got home I would feel paralysed by all that I had to do. An endless list would always run through my head of homework assignments, tests to study for, application essays, and the nagging itch of senior project. Whenever I found a moment to relax, I would always be thinking, “What could I be doing instead?” My mind could always come up with a good long list of obligations I was shirking, or better things I could be…

The first of my stressors is school; school is a stressor because it is more demanding than it was in past years there it is now asking more from me along with all my other responsibilities. School takes up a lot of time during the day in classes and then even more time doing outside classwork. This takes away from my work schedule or my sleep schedule neither. School is the first thing on my mind in the morning and the last thing before I go to bed. School is also a financial bourdon between books, classes, and transportation. The last reason that school is a stressor is because I have put a lot of pressure on my self to succeed I have worked so hard to get where I am today and I have to continue to work hard and not let the little things overwhelm me about school.…
