In the articles “How the Wolf Became the Dog” and “How the Dog Became Part of the Family” by Sarah Albee and Lauren Tarshis. Talk about why so many people have dogs for pets because dogs are very useful for the jobs they can do, so many have dogs for another family member, and dogs help kids. The first quote form “How the Wolf Became the Dog” talks about why owners have dogs for pets because of how helpful they can be.”Dogs were valued mainly for the jobs they could do” (Albee and Tarshis 25). The quote from Tarshis and Albee prove that dog owners have dogs for pets and not cats because dogs are used for the jobs they can do and help with. Another quote from the article talk about why so many people own dogs for pets because they are a member
of the family. “96 percent consider their dogs to be members of the family” (Albee and Tarshis 25). That quote from the authors prove that they own dogs because they use them for a family member. The last reason why the author proves why so many people own dogs is because they can help kids. “Dogs can help kids with autism and other challenge” (Albee and Tarshis 25). The last reason why so many people own dogs for pets because,dogs can help kids cope with some problem they can't get help with. So many people own dogs because they our helpful, they are part of the family, and dogs help kids. So maybe you might consider getting a dogs because of those reasons.
