First, many employers look deeper than just having a college degree. Just going to college and getting a degree in a desired field does not guarantee you the job of your dreams. Many companies will want more than just having a degree, they want to see experience in the field or the potential to grow. Even if you were to get a normal college degree, there are plenty of people out there who also have a college degree and are just as qualified. For example, if a company had to make a decision of hiring one of two people, who both had college degrees, they would choose the one they feel has more experience. Which comes down to the fact that experience in the right field can also get you a good enough job.
Third, college doesn’t teach you everything you need to know about maintaining a good job. Many people graduate from college and get a nice job but, they aren't fully prepared. College and the job market are two different things. You can go to college and gather the knowledge, but it does not give you the experience required to have a specific job immediately. It is possible for someone who did not go to college and has experience in the specified field to get a job over someone with a college degree with no
