Having the right man for the right job is imperative for corporate success. The person that installs the cabinetry for ABC Inc. is probably not the same person you want managing the financial responsibilities and obligations. Employees of ABC Complete Kitchens Inc. encompass a similar work ethic, professionalism and accountability however; their skills vary and need to be accommodated suitably within the company. Maintaining this level of expectation is imperative to achieve organizational success. Maturity, health, financial stability and the ability to compensate accordingly to current and long term fiscal challenges is the responsibility of the financial manager and within this organization or for ABC Inc. the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).…
Sofia, I completely agree. That a paralegal’s average pay is reasonable based on the level of education needed to become one. I was quite intrigued to find out that paralegals in San Francisco make $70,000 annually. It seems like a lot of people believe paralegals should earn a higher salary. Because of the amount of work they do on a daily basis. I think that if we are truly passionate about the learning the law we won’t work a day if we obtain a position as a paralegal. Working under the supervision of an attorney will prepare anyone of us interested in going to law…

Howardsville, a quaint little city, nestled in the foothills of the Putney Mountains located forty miles southwest of Charleston, West Virginia, had its own dark history. Having lived his entire life in the two–story house on the outskirts of town, Ernest Cassidy was familiar with the myths, legends, and lies about his city and was always quick to defend it. The mysteries began years earlier when Dr. Ronald Hackney; a surgeon at General Hospital in Charleston came up missing. One morning, he didn’t arrive at the office, his nurse called the home. Up on finding his car in the garage and his keys in the garden his wife, Lily called the police. The volunteer rescue squad searched for several days and found no trace. It was as though he had disappeared.…
I decided to interview Lindy Swimm for this assignment because she lives and has been working in Charlottesville, Virginia for 30 years. This was exceptionally useful because upon graduation I desire to live in Charlottesville. In Charlottesville the average salary for an LCP who holds a Master’s of Science in Counseling is $54,750. This can fluctuate with certain certifications, years of experience, and whether you’re working for a company or a private practice. Counseling careers are prevailing across the U.S. as a whole, the demand is steadily increasing; however, funding is being cut for facilities nationwide. Charlottesville is a rather liberal town, being said there is a specific demand for expressive/creative therapy due to the high…
At approximately 1745 hours, I was dispatched to 9514 Crestwood Drive, Amarillo. Upon arrival, at 1758 hours, I met the reporting persons Ronald C. Bentham and his wife, Sara L. Bentham, in reference to a burglary report call. They stated that they returned home from shopping and found that someone had broken into the home and taken numerous items. Mr. Bentham stated that no one else was at the home, and they called the police immediately after returning home. He stated that he and his wife went to town to do some shopping, and then they had dinner at a local restaurant. He stated that when they returned home they found the back door open and the wood frame around the door broken. It appears that someone used a pry bar, or a similar tool to…
Herbert Hoover in his early life went through many trials and tribulations. The man that became president was once a boy with a dark childhood. Herbert Clark Hoover was born on August 10, 1874 in the state of Iowa. At the early age of nine Herbert was left as an orphan. These early experiences of his childhood left him scared with a dark past; because of these experiences from his early life “his boyhood experiences left Hoover permanently reclusive and wary to a degree that not even decades of success could erase, and they would have unfortunate political consequences when he sought to lead the nation” (P1). These experiences of his childhood not only affected him as a child or young adult, but also as an adult that became the president of the United Sates as well.…
One way that the city life changed in the 1800’s is the germ theory. “Not until 1870’s did French chemist Louis Pasteur clearly show the link between microbends and disease”(249). Thanks to his investigation people took disease and germs more seriously. “Pasteur went on making other major contributions, including the development of vaccines against rabies”(249) Without having the shot against rabies many of us would be dead because animals and germs are always around us. Another way the city life changed in the 1800’s is anesthesia. “Anesthesia was the first used to relieve pain during surgery”(250). Today we use anesthesia a lot in the medical department, “The use of anesthetics allowed doctors to experiment with operations that had ever…
It seems that the town of Pleasantville is a utopia for everyone that lives there. However, the town of Pleasantville is actually a dystopia with utopian elements. Everyone in Pleasantville has a niche that they fill. They're not allowed to go below or beyond that niche. It seems that all the people are happy being who they are but in reality they feel that way because they don't now what else to feel.…

Others had to leave rented accommodation because they could no longer afford it. They moved into makeshift shelters constructed from packing cases and corrugated iron on the outskirts of cities. The shanty towns which resulted were nicknamed ‘Hoovervilles’ because many people blamed their homelessness on President Hoover.…

Hanford, California. You know you’ve entered the San Joaquin Valley once the scent of cow manure wakes you up from your nap in the car while you’re on your way to the tourist city of Los Angeles. All around the world, Los Angeles attracts tourists for its image of the film industry, its equivocal Hollywood sign and constant weather of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If not LA, then San Francisco, which is located in northern California, comes next to mind. San Francisco is known for its Golden Gate Bridge and technological savvy. Curious, you peek out your car window and automatically start to question whether you’re going in the right direction. You find yourself surrounded by green and fields filled with groups of Holstein and Jersey cows, endless…
