How To Write A Letter To Colonel Burnham
Dear Colonel Burnham:

I am 1LT Sergio Cortez McClenton Sr. I am coming from Fort Gordon, Georgia after serving in the 35th Signal Brigade (Theater Tactical) for the last eight months. Prior to that, I served in Charlie Company, 21st Engineer Battalion, 3BCT at Fort Campbell, Kentucky for two years.

I am currently in SCCC where I am learning how to become a better Signal Officer both professionally and personally. In my previous assignments, I have had the opportunity to serve as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and a BDE S3 Plans Officer. In addition to that, I have also obtained two civilian certifications, CompTIA’s Network plus and Security plus. While in SCCC I plan to obtain my Advanced Security Practitioner Certification

Working in both a TTSB and a BCT, I have had the opportunity to support echelons in both strategic and tactical fields. This has allowed me to see the Signal Corps in two different capacities. While also being a part of the different planning and the decision-making processes of both organizations.

We all have a general idea of what we want to do with our lives, but none of us know for sure exactly how our lives will turn out. I, myself, am still undecided on a major and pray that The Lord will lay on my heart what his plan for my life is, one day soon.…
