Evaluation Essay Proposal: Music
1) The Subject

I purpose to write about music. Music has been around for about 55,000 years. It is believed music was first created in Africa. There are different types of music all over the world. For example, there is Hip-hop, R& B, Country, Jazz, Rock, Gospel and so much more.

Overtime, Music has become a huge influence in human life. Music is used in shows and plays. Music is used to help define different cultures and bring people together. Music helps tell a lot about someone. My evaluation will focus on how the music the artist writes reflects them.

2) The Main Issue or Problem

The problem I will discuss is the misconception that an artist and their music is one in the same. People think just because an artist is naked in a video they must be wild and get around. These artist write songs and videos for our entertainment based on what’s hot in the world right now. An artist’s identity is very different from the music they portray to the world.

3) Central View, Argument, or Thesis

4) Reason for Choosing the Subject

Miley Cyrus is judged based on how she dress and perform so she is considered to be a wild child, but many people don’t know she helps out the homeless in her spare time. Some artist’s music is not even songs they would have chosen for the world to hear in the first place like the music Pinks was writing in the beginning. Artists have their secret lives they don’t show to the
