How To Write A Reflective Essay On Rhetorical Analysis
If somebody were to ask me what I deem as important, many ideas would come to my mind. When I think of things that are important to me, I think of things that are valuable; things that I consider to be essential and needed for myself. Items and ideas of importance are not necessarily things that I cannot live without, but things that have improved my life for the better and that I can frequently use throughout my life, whether it be for a social situation, a class project, or a job assignment. I have used analyzing skills in other courses throughout my schooling but the assignment in which I had to analyze text forced me to take a step back and really interpret and contemplate what I was reading. I have always been an analytical thinker and using analytical thinking in this class merely sharpened those skills. I recently took the ACT exam and I am convinced that I was able to analyze and interpret the English, reading, and writing portions of the test much better than I would’ve if I would’ve taken the exam before I took this course. A composition assignment that I used plenty of analytical thinking in is the rhetorical analysis assignment. An example of a conclusion I made from analyzing a specific advertisement would be “this advertisement is effective due to the fact that it greatly appeals to the emotions of the viewer. Microsoft achieves this emotional appeal through the intriguing story of the young boy that leaves the viewer not only feeling sympathetic and compassionate for the child, but feeling respect for Microsoft and the impact their products have had on the lives of people like Braylon.” I can use my analytical thinking skills in social situations when trying to analyze arguments and claims another person is trying to make and in other classes when asked to analyze something, whether it be a video, a song, or a simple
