How to Write a Successful C.V
What does C.V stands for? C.V stands for the word Curriculum Vitae. The origin of curriculum vitae is Latin which means the course of one's life or career. Another name for a C.V is a resume which means sum up in French. What is a C.V? A C.V is an outline of a person's educational and professional history, usually prepared for job applications. In addition, a C.V is a marketing document in which you are marketing something like your skills, abilities, qualifications and experience to employers. Indeed, to write a good C.V you need to follow these steps carefully.
The first thing you need to write in your C.V is your personal details. Normally these would be your name, address, date of birth, telephone number and email. A photograph usually is not needed unless you are an actor or the job you are applying for has something to do with your appearance. However, if you do include a photograph it should be a head and shoulders shot. You should be dressed suitably and smiling. Remember to recheck every single detail you wrote so that you make sure that the numbers and the information is written correctly.
The second thing you need to add to write a successful C.V is education, qualifications and work experience. You need to mention your degree subject and university, plus levels or equivalents. Moreover, you can also mention your grades unless they are poor. In that case you don't need to mention that. Furthermore, use action words to describe your work experience such as, developed, planned and organized. Even if you have worked in a shop or restaurant, this is also involves working in a team and dealing with clients. Also, try to relate your skills to the job. For example, a business administration job involves problem solving, negotiation and persuading skills. Try to emphasis these skills if you are applying for this kind of jobs.
