HRIS Implementation
HRIS Implementation The decisions for the GenRays HRIS Implementation were based on the documentation the customer was kind enough to provide. It was important to include the presentation and the approval of the plan as the first couple of tasks since everything else is contingent upon their approval. Since the customers were not certain whether the project should have a home grown software application or if one could be purchased, it was necessary to define all of the requirements prior to moving forward. Jamie was identified as the point person for this task because of his extensive knowledge of the existing system and his likelihood that he will know what the new system should possess. He will be joined by a couple others that can help with requirements with their backgrounds in dealing with spreadsheets and payroll. Because the team has multiple members, several things can be occurring concurrently and many ideas shared.
Morgan will head up the cost analysis portion of this task due to his extensive knowledge with purchasing and his recent involvement in the accounting system that was recently implemented. Drew will join Morgan in this task and together they will research and interview the possibilities for the full system.
Ashton was the obvious choice to head up the task to identify the technical and architectural needs of the project. Having been with the company for 20 years, he will be able to lead a team to ensure a smooth implementation. Kendall and Dakota will help with these tasks which will allow for some overlap in the timing of these tasks. Kendall was chosen to handle the data conversion portion of the task. Since this portion will not begin until May, the time he will not be available will not be a factor. Jamie and Logan will be brought in to assist with training needs.
Since Drew had recent experience with the implementation of the Centralized Finance System, he was determined to be a good choice for creating the test

Stakeholders Identifying the key stakeholders is an important part of the information gathering process. The key stakeholders in Riordan Manufacturing for gathering information for this project are: the payroll manager, Silvija Peterson, the compensation & benefits manager, Terri Carranza, the employee relations manager, Andrea Gamby, and the training and development specialist, Mari Carillo. This represents the management and daily users of the current HRIS and provides a good basis for what the requirements of the new system need to be (Apollo group, 2012). Although not part of the human resource department, including a few of the programmer/analysts can provide key insight and documentation toward understanding the current system as well.…

Castle’s Family Restaurant is a local, small family owned business. Business is booming due to the location of the restaurants. The family-owned business is usually a case of a dream vs. reality. With crazy hours, small profits and no relief, a small business is tough to handle. Finding employees who are the right “fit” is especially difficult for smaller, family owned businesses, which often do not have the luxury of a human resources department. Jay Morgan is the operations manager but playing two roles in this company by also acting as the HR manager, which is not good for him or for the company. As a Human Resource consultant for a small franchise like Castle’s, I would want to ensure that the restaurant is operating well because I know the success of the restaurant is heavily built around the flow in which it functions. The work environment of a restaurant is usually fast paced, and requires the maximum efficiency. Employees are almost always part-time workers, except for managers and other supervisors. Mr. Morgan is traveling too much during the week to each location to handle several to almost all of the HR functions.…
