System (NIMS). The adequate coordination is an important part of the HSA success in running its activities. In fact, effective communication within the respective departments has been the most important part of the integration process.
HSA also works very closely with other partners in the local, federal, state, and international levels in its efforts to achieve its objectives. Graeme (2008) observed that HSA has expanded its capacity and capability by deploying the use of advanced science and technology. This is an important initiative given that modern day terrorism is numerously planned and advanced through the use of the newest technologies. The United States has also increased its budget for security with HSA been allocated a massive budget and resources to allow for adequate preparedness and execution of its activities. Therefore, with adequate systems, enough resources, and increased collaboration, HSA has been able to adequately play its role and initiate a successful cycle of prevention, protection, response and recovery. By initiative adequate systems, any new threat can be evaluated and prevented, which leads to the protection of the citizens. However, the system does not ignore the fact that incase threat occurs, it can be responded to adequately and damage minimized.
