MAKING AN EFFECTIVE COMPANY PRESENTATION
When preparing the presentation, you should remember these basic rules: • Be on time. • Anticipate the needs and expectations of audience. • Familiarize yourself with company representatives and understand their role in the site selection process. Learn as much as you can about the company by using the Internet and the information sources that you use when you first identify the target companies. The presentation should incorporate the following: 1. Begin by outlining the structure and content of your 20-minute presentation but prior to doing so ask the company to clarify their specific project interests. If necessary, adjust your presentation to make sure that these interests are adequately addressed. 2. When making the presentation, remember to use these techniques: • Develop an attention–grabbing introduction. • Prepare and utilize visual aids. If more than four people are present, use overhead slides. You should have a color slide show which can be shown on a laptop computer or with transparencies on an overhead projector. • Make sure that your visual aids complement your presentation and provide additional information. The slides must be informative and should focus on the key benefits available. They should have a high-quality appearance in order to give your agency a professional image. Do not
