2. Needs and wants
Needs: satisfaction of physical, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural enhances a person’s wellbeing. Things necessary in life according to Maslow’s hierarchy.
Wants: things we desire (phone, car, games)
3. Resources Economic resources | Financial resources used to achieve economic gain or goals. (income from wages. etc.) | Non-economic resources | Having no relationship to money. (communication skills, energy, park, local swimming pool) | Human resources | Skills or talents of people (knowledge, creativity) | Non-human resources | Tangible or touchable objects (food, parks, car, computer) | Formal resources | Organised and established by the community. (libraries, sports club, pre-school) | In formal resources | Things that is available. (family, friends) |
By nature, resources may be finite or infinite, renewable and non. The availability is influenced by age, disability, education, ethnicity, culture or gender.
4. Values and Standards
Ideals that is important that individuals use to assess how goals and values are achieved. Influence the priority we place on needs and wants.
Standards: a measure that is used to judge acceptable quality
5. Communication Passive | Fail to express their feelings, needs and ideas fear of losing others. | Assertive | Express their feelings in a non-aggressive, positive manner. Mutual respect. | Aggressive | Feelings expressed in a rude tone. Often leads to lose of respect from others, fights. Etc. |

May be structured or unstructured and allow individuals points of view to be presented through in-depth study.
