Human Sexuality Class: The Female Reproductive System

In Human Sexuality class, we are learning about the female and male reproductive systems. The class covers different parts of the male and female reproductive system, including external and internal genitalia and how they work. We also learned about human hormones and how they play a part in human sexuality. The class gives you hard facts to review and additional resources for you to review in order to have a better understanding of the information learned in the lesson. The Female Reproductive System
I am a male and I thought I knew almost everything about my body parts. Well, this website provided me with a lot of information that I thought I knew. Within the site, I learned a lot about the male reproductive system, but the topic I learned the most about would have to be the different types of penis disorders. Out of the six that was described, I know four of them. The two that I wasn’t familiar with were Hypospadias and Ambiguous genitalia. Hypospadias is a birth defect when the urinary opening is not at the usual location on the tip of the penis. I didn’t know this was common and in most cases, doesn’t cause difficulty; this can be restored by surgery. Ambiguous genitalia is also a birth defect when a child male or female genital is unclear. The Breast cancer occurs in men website broke down the different topics of men health and cancer into key points. This made it easier for me to understand. Things that I learn from the website were; men like a woman can have breast cancer and can have lumps in the chest as well. Those men that carry the cancer trait can pass it on to their daughters. Men and women are treated somewhat the same for breast cancer and the Survival for breast cancer is similar to survival for women with breast cancer. Although a woman can have it throughout the breast most men have breast cancer in the nipple, Areola, fatty tissue, and ducts.
