“If you think slavery ended in the United States, think again” –Unknown Human Trafficking or Sex Trafficking is like slavery in many different ways. Trafficking involves children, women, and men of all ages; there are hardly any good that comes out of it. Many try and argue that there is good when it comes to immigrants getting involved but there are a lot more aspects to consider when defining sex trafficking as being good in any way. It has been associated with structure of government, arms trade, drug trade, and even spreads as far as terrorism (Central). Human trafficking is as issue that affects various people in various different ways. Throughout the globe weather the country is highly developed or not all countries at some point face the issue of humanitarian crisis. Although sex trafficking is mainly viewed as a bad thing there are others who view it as being good. Many challenge this concept with the fact that immigrants use sex/human trafficking as a way to escape their own country. Leading up to this turn out can come up by having a strict violent country. This causing family to get into the business of selling other members to traffickers to get them into safer countries such as the United States. This does help get them away from the dangers of their own countries but also this causes it to be illegal and it may turn around on them causing them to never see their family members again. Although challengers have a valid point with immigrants getting involved in the business there are way more bad aspects such as being forcibly sold or involved other than willingly. Sources estimate that 800,000 people are trafficked across the country each year (peterpilt). With sexual assault being one of the most traumatic events to ever happen to a person why would a family member want to put a fellow member to face that just to get them out of their predicament involving their own countries environment.
