Amongst the other non-profit organizations, the Alzheimer’s Association was the one that felt closer to home. My father suffers from cerebral damage and the doctors have told us that his illness will slowly lead to alzheimer’s as he gets older. My biggest fear is for my father to completely forget his surroundings and who his family is. I would like to help this organization for everyone on the verge of getting this illness or anyone currently living with this illness because no one knows how horrible it must be to live in oblivion every day of your life. And I would especially like to help those who suffer with that illness and have no family members to turn to and/or are living in impecunious conditions because anyone could take advantage of them since they are very vulnerable.
Lastly, another reason why I would choose the Alzheimer’s Association would be because not only is it horrible for the person living with the illness but it is also terrible for the family members of the person. As a son, I cannot stand the thought of having my own father forget who I am, but as for my mother, I cannot imagine how painful it must be for the love of her life to forget who she is. I would like to help and support anyone going through a time like this, and I hope that by donating we can help find a cure to
