Hidden Soul

Entry 1,
A DARK PRISON
There was darkness seeping from the corners like an ocean bursting from a dam. Light filled the passageway for a brief moment before being engulfed by the darkness. It was pulled back into sickly darkness that oddly behaved like a strange thick black oil, goop or tar. The darkness was very slowly moving down the corridor, but quickened its pace if a ray of light escaped. The darkness had hardened way far back when it started turning into it’s strange substance, and many tiny homes that had been in the many air pockets that were trapped inside the darkness. Thousands of animals got trapped in the caves. Hunter was one of them.

Hunter had never met anyone in his entire life and was always alone. Both

Finally freedom! But don’t you dare forget me!
Gem, I know, this wagon is for you to tag along. See anything else we can bring along?
I say perhaps the wet fluid. Or the wall of nics and tacs.

Hunter nodded and looked at the wall. To hard to move, but would be missed. He walked over to it and started to count them. Six thousand and five nics. He had passed an anniversary of many days of survival. He took a stone and wrote those digits on it using a firm claw. Looking back at Gem he watched her sit patiently, bored as ever. Hunter placed the stone in her clutched palm, for they shared the numerous days together. After placing all items in the movement, Hunter sat by the crack in the wall and waited. Bandit and Sun soon appeared bearing food like it was a sacred gift. “Heya Hunter. Got some salmon and peas.” Sun proclaimed,
Hunter lifted his paws and grabbed the strange material that held the food.
It was hard, like rock, and had to be held firm, but it was light.
“It’s porcelain.” Bandit noted, as she leaned to the little crack.
Hunter carefully chewed the green little spheres. They looked like Bandit’s gleaming eyes. It felt weird feeling this new texture in his mouth, not hard rock, but something chewy. Hunter got up after eating and

Question One: The existence of the court hierarchy means that there are courts that are superior to other courts. One reason for this is if you are unhappy with a decision from a particular court you can appeal your case to a higher court. Another reason for the existence of the court hierarchy is the doctrine of precedent. This allows courts higher in the hierarchy to create a precedent that all lower courts must follow, making sure all cases are heard in a similar manner. Another reason for the existence of the court hierarchy is specialisation. This means the courts are able to specialise in their particular area of law.…

This experience has been one of the most outlandish and eerie that one could of imagined. Most things in life can be explained rationally and with little thought to the reason or logic behind them, however what I have experienced is quite the conflicting to what I would usually be inclined to think. There must be some type of phenomenon that makes one feel as though one has left the natural world. These occurrences leave no room for logic, rationalization or justification.…

What is heritage? This is a question that begins to wander through one’s mind in Alice Walker’s Everyday Use. Although, it seems like a pretty generic answer, one sees that through this story that there are different meanings to people. Everyday Use is a story that follows a mom and her two daughters Maggie and Dee otherwise known as “Wangero.” It goes through these lives to share with the reader how people can completely abandon their past or ways of living as a child and then after growing up decide to completely praise those ways. Although, one thing still remains which is what does heritage mean to certain people and how does one preserve it.…

My name is Guy Johanson, and I am a sophomore Music Education major at the Setnor School of Music. I am originally from Liverpool, NY, just outside of Syracuse. I have been involved with Syracuse University since the time I was in middle school participating in youth ensembles playing the French Horn and the Oboe. Currently I am a member of the Syracuse University Marching Band, Tau Beta Sigma (the national band sorority), and am usually playing with many ensembles around campus. I work at Old Navy in Destiny USA during school breaks, while during the school year I work at the Cathedral Academy at Pompey as an after school music program teacher. My strongest skill that I possess, I believe, is my ability to time manage. Throughout the past year and a half, I have learned to balance 19+ credits, sorority involvement, and working two jobs during the year.…

The essay on His Race for Race was a very descriptive essay. The essay spoke on the color of Barack Obama which showed the racial barriers he went through today as our president. Obama is very good with speeches and debates he mastered that from his days on the Harvard Debate Team. One point in the 2008 presidential campaign a white lady showed a racial stereotype due to ignorance by saying “she isn’t voting for Obama because he was Arabian.” Obama comes from a very large diverse family and culture.…

The event that most interested me was the slave trader video. How they took a prince and broke him. He still was able to survive and still run a plantation just like the tribe he was from. It must take a lot of self will to survive in the conditions they were put in on the boat, then to get off and still be no better than cattle. Though slavery was equally as tragic and traumatic for black men and women, the experience of slavery affected them in different ways. "Depending upon their age and gender, slaves were assigned a particular task, or tasks, that had to be completed during the course of the day." In certain settings, men would participate in the hard labor, such as working on the farm, while women would generally work in the household. They would "be sent out on errands, but in most cases their jobs required that they spend much of their time within their owner's household." These gender distinctions were mainly applied in the Northern colonies and on larger plantations. In Southern colonies and smaller farms, however, women and men typically engaged in the same roles, both working in the tobacco crop fields.…

As a GCU student in the class UNV 103, prioritizing is very significant for me because without it I would not be able to complete my assignments on time. I begin my week with reading the assignments and answering the discussion forum questions. Next, I usually reply to other peoples posts throughout the week. I will start writing the journal entries and completing the assignments that are due for the week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Finally, I read my work over before I finally submit my assignments for the week. After a hard day of work I come home and complete my assignments first, and then I complete any other chores that I have to do.…
