I Am Malala

“I Am Malala” by Malala Yousafzai and Christina Lamb, is my favorite book of the year. It is Malala Yousafzai’s autobiography. I love that it shows empowerment towards women and tells a tragic, but true story of an amazing girl. She also explains what the violent and unjust dynamic is currently in Pakistan, and the power of education, as well as Malala’s medical condition. It even tells the reader how she still is standing up for her cause.

Malala is an inspirational figure who has, and still is doing all she can for girl’s all over the world to get an education. In the process, she was shot by a member of the Taliban on her way to school, but she survived and kept going. She is living proof that women can do whatever men can. Her book empowers girls everywhere. It makes them think about what THEY can do and how THEY can help people. That’s one of the many reasons she is an idol to many. Her empowerment changes people’s views on the world.
It tells Malala’s horribly sad story and how her experiences are still affecting her today. Imagine if you just went to school and then got shot for trying to get an education. How is that fair? Just because you’re a girl doesn’t mean you don’t deserve basic rights! Malala makes this a major point in her book. Her story makes me question our
