Radiologist is very interesting, to me, and I believe that I would be extremely excellent for this job. I have the main skills you would need to be a radiologist: I’m a great communicator, I pay attention to details, and I work well individually and in group work. I really want to become a radiologist because I like to help people and their health is important to me. Radiologists are the people that examine x-rays, CT scans, mammograms, ultrasounds, and MRI scans. Sometimes some of them operate the machinery used to collect those images. They also use their findings to diagnose illnesses and treat their patients with the medical radiation. She informed me that I would have to take 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 1 year internship, 4 years radiology, and 1 year fellowship. Therefore I would have a total minimum around 14 years after high school. Then she mentioned the main job is interpreting imaging studies and nuclear medicine studies. I asked her if she would change anything about her job she said, “I really like my job so there is little I would change at this time. If anything I would like to change the Government and Insurance companies from messing with my patients by telling me the Doctor what I can or can’t do.” Then I asked what she liked and disliked, she said, “I love the patient interaction and ability to help others. It’s fun when you can help save a life or make a huge difference in a patient’s outcome. What most radiologists or doctors in general don’t like is being on call. This means we need to come into the hospital when we are needed any time of the day or night.” She also mentioned, “Salary can vary dramatically as a Radiologist. It depends on what you do and where you work. It can range from $100,000 up to a million dollars. Most radiologists make between $300,000 to $500,000 a
