Identity theft uses sophisticated scammers and computer software to steal a persons identity , and to make credit cards, licences and passports ass with a new to defraud the unsuspecting person. An example of identity theft includes using copied credit cards to make purchases, getting fake passports to give to illegal immigrants and finally selling someone else's medical healthcare details illegally on the internet. These crimes are done through the use of technology and are carefully thought out, making it difficult for authorities and the government to catch them and to enforce laws and rights against them. An example of identity theft is conveyed in the recent article published by the Sydney morning herald titled “Medicare
card details of every Australian up for sale on the dark web” the article informs Australians about how scammers are finding their Medicare card details and selling them online for $30 each. The article also explained how criminals and thieves access an Australians citizens details through the statement; "Leave the first and last name, and DOB of any Australian citizen, and you will receive their Medicare patient details in full" (Tim Biggs, Fergus Hunter,Sydney morning herald, 4 July ,2017).
