Imagine Dragons Song Analysis Essay
After I annotated this song and actually looked into what the lyrics were saying I learned that not everyone is who you think they are. For instance, you hide a lot of things from people not because you want to ,but because you don’t know how to tell them or maybe you’re afraid of what they will think of you. In the song ‘Demons’ by Imagine Dragons the singer says,”I wanna hide the truth’(Imagine dragons line 8 box 3) ,but then he says,” don’t want to hide the truth.”( Imagine Dragons line 35 box 8) I think that he is having mixed feelings what he should do. He is afraid that if he tells you that you may leave him or you won’t look at him the same way ever again. In the music video it gives you a very good example about how much you may not know about your best friend. You may think you now everything about someone and you may no nothing about a person. In the video it shows a boy playing video games and then his drunk dad comes in the room and starts attacking him. I bet that boy has told no one about that situation because if he did he wouldn’t still be living with him. Like i said earlier he is afraid to tell people because he doesn’t know one, how his dad will react and two, how many people may judge him. So, he thinks that he should just live through it and not tell anyone. Another, thing could be that he …show more content…
You can think you know everything about a person ,but that doesn’t mean you do. I know that you’ve heard this ever since you were five ,but it’s the truth, ‘Be the friend you want to have’ and ‘ treat people how you wish to be treated.” I say this because maybe you went through a tough time and no one noticed how much pain you were in. So always make sure your friends are okay they may have a smile on their face, but remember that doesn’t always mean they’re okay on the inside. It’s so much easier to put a fake smile on your face then it is to tell everyone exactly how you are

We may not have total control over what we feel, but we as humans can usually show some control. Furthermore, we can demonstrate substantial control over how we do or don’t express our feelings and to whom we express them. Taking personal responsibility for when, how, and to whom you express feelings is a cornerstone of ethical interpersonal communication. With that being said, another reason we often choose not to express feelings is that we fear we could hurt or upset others. Sometimes we make an ethical choice not to express emotions that would hurt another person without achieving any positive response or outcome. Simply choosing not to express in some situations or to some people can be constructive and generous. Bryce uses generalities, use of general or abstract language which is limiting his ability to communicate exactly how he is feeling. For example he states that he “feels bad” I think he also feels vulnerable, which is the fear that if he reveals his feelings it will have a negative effect on what others think of him like his friend for instance. For example- he just states he is not feeling much of anything, so he cannot be judged based on what he is truly feeling.…

I learned from the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson that friendship is tender and brutal event. When Melinda loses all her friends at a party just before she starts high school due to a grave of misunderstanding, she’s forced to reevaluate the nature of friendship. This story teaches me that friendship can change overtime and people can change too. This proves that you should trust no one because one day people can hurt you and let you down without knowing the true part of the story. In the book, everyone hates Melinda when she didn’t mean any harm, she just made the right choice.…

“Talking shit about a pretty sunset,” is a song that portrays an overall apathetic outlook on life. The listener can clearly hear the discontent expressed in the words sung and the execution in the music. Jim Morrison "Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself— and especially to feel. Or not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to— letting a person be what he really is.... Most people love you for who you pretend to be.... To keep their love, you keep pretending— performing. You get to love your pretense.... It's true, we're locked in an image, an act— and the sad thing is, people get so used to their image— they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And if you try to remind them, they hate you for it— they feel like you're trying to steal their most precious…

The song “Firework” by: Katy Perry has a lot of symbolism. With her beautiful voice, and to her amazing lyrics, people can really relate to what she is saying. From her lyrics in “Firework” I was able to pull out three lyrics that I think have the most symbolism. “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind wanting to start again?”, “Cause baby you’re a firework, come and let your colors burst”, and “You don’t have to feel like a wasted space, you’re original, cannot be replaced” are the three lyrics that stood out to me the most with the most symbolism.…

When asked to write an essay about a song of significance to me, I thought to myself, “This is going to be an easy grade”. But because of my love for music of all kinds, I found that the choice of which song to write about was even harder than I imagined. After a few days of contemplation and battling with what I felt would be most appropriate for my English professor to read, I decided to write about a song called “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban. I fell in love with this song for its beautiful, smooth melody and genuine words. I had no idea this song would make a permanent impression in my life.…

Lieder ohne Worte (Song without Words) is written by the Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. It is a collection of forty-eight short lyrical piano pieces of markedly song-like character that he wrote at various periods of his life between 1809 and 1847. They are well suited to the study of musical form because of their artistic value. Op. 19b, No. 1 Andante con moto in E major was written in 1830 and is the first in the collection. The piece is in the key of E major and modulates from E to B to G major.…
