Basic Christian teaching includes the Creation story, which emphasizes man and his relationship with God as Creator and creature. This relationship is highlighted with the concept of Imago Dei, which pertains to the image of God. The Creation story emphasizes man mainly because of Imago Dei playing a role in the creation of man being made in the image and likeness of God. Adam and Eve embody humanity and were given the characteristics which allowed them to describe the concept of Imago Dei. Not only did God make everything in his image, but he made sure that all humanity is intentional. He gave all plants, animals, and humans rights and dignities. Mankind has known since the beginning of time, that the right and dignity of a human person must be protected.

Rapists need to understand what they ruin when they commit the crime. The rapist ruins their life, their victim’s life, and their relationship with God. People are made in the image of God and should be treated as such. Humans must not be taken for granted but instead cared for as God intended. Imago Dei gives human beings a reason to know that they are not worthless, makes everyone equal, and gives everyone they dignity and protection they deserve. Imago Dei is the one thing that connects humanity to God but has had sin running through its veins since the very
