The business environment in the present world is continuously changing and these changes are occurring at a very high pace. Therefore, in order to survive in such a competitive and fast-paced environment, firms and organisations need to improve the skills of the managers and employees continually. So in order to work towards and achieve this target, firms need to carry out training and development activities and then need to evaluate the results of that training for giving feedback to the workforce and motivate them to work more efficiently. As Abdul and Aamer suggest that “the better trained and well developed employees bring good performance to the company which leads toward success. So the employees’ development and training is in direct relation with the performance” (Abdul & Aamer 2011: 224). Hence, this essay will show that effective training is very beneficial for organisations and its impact is positive on a company’s performance. One of the major aims of the firms is to attain organisational development and in order to meet this target; firms need to carry out employee development. Organisational development basically means to improve an organisation’s overall performance and develop employees’ skills through planning, organising, leading, controlling and training the organisational resources in the form of human capital. But the question occurs that how companies can improve employees’ skills and performance and the answer to this is through ‘learning’. It is described by the professionals as “measurable and relatively permanent change in behaviour through experience, instruction, or study” (Business Dictionary 2013). So the employees need to be motivated to learn new skills and bring them into practice as when they’ll be willingly take part in learning areas such as workshops,
