Impact Of Julius Caesar On Ghandi

There have been many political leaders throughout history, some with a positive impact, some with a negative impact or even little or no impact at all on the people and world around them. Some of those leaders have been assassinated because someone or a group of people doesn’t agree with or like the leaders standpoint on things. I am going to compare Julius Caesar with Ghandi, since they were both huge political leaders in both their times and they have both been assassinated because what they were fighting for. Julius Caesar was a popular leader/politician back in the Roman Empire. He was the leader of the Roman Republic and played a huge part in forming the Roman Empire. After fighting his way to the top he became a dictator of The Roman Empire for a year before he was assassinated by his political rivals, Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus who joined the Roman senate. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was more a spiritual activist then a politician and was known for his nonviolent philosophy passive resistance. His followers called him Mahatma or “The Great Souled One. He was an Indian immigrant in South Africa in the early 1900’s and that’s where he began his activism. He became the leading figure in India’s struggle to gain independence from Great Britain during the years following World War l. He was also known for his ascetic lifestyle by dressing in a loincloth and shawl and his strong Hindu faith. Ghandi was imprisoned many times in his pursuit of peace for non-cooperation and undertook many hunger strikes to protest the oppression of India’s poorest class of people and other injustices. He further pursued peace between Hindus and Muslims but was later shot by a Hindu fundamentalist. Julius and Ghandi both had huge followings of people who felt strongly about what they were doing for the people. Julius was a fighter or
