Some professions do gain knowledge, which is quite hard to acquire through words and language. Does this mean that other Ways of Knowing play a more important role in order to know how to do things? It all depends on the profession. A teacher, or a writer’s life obviously revolves around writing. Whereas for an athlete, perception plays a more significant role. For artists, emotion, perception and though language is a part of their learning process, it is not as vital. Certain people know how to do something without it being taught to them; instinctively. However, most of the time, language plays as a role to develop the basics of learning. After learning the basics, perception develops; one sense develops more than the other, depending on the person. Through thinking and reasoning after learning the basics; it starts making sense logically. Then, emotion decides for us either if we like it or not.
Sense perception plays a vital role in everyone’s lives. Basically almost everything we learn is through perceiving. Athletes may learn through coaching but when they were learning to hold a ball or run when they were children, perception taught them to do so. For visual artists, one has to actually practice drawing and see what they are doing in order to learn how to create art. Students these days have books and art teachers, showing them techniques in order to learn how to do things; however, in many cases artists just adapt ways by themselves. In is unlikely for one to learn art through language; you draw something then by looking at it you are able to make adjustments and therefore you create art. Perception plays a big role in an artists life also because many
