A.Yoga
1.Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years in India. Yoga is based on the idea that the mind and body are one. This is why practitioners believe that yoga improves how you see the world, which calms the spirit and decreases stress. (Kathleen Romito, MD- Family Medicine, Marc S. 2.Yoga exercises can be used to improve health, for physical and psychological purposes. Many physicians use it to treat asthma, arthritis and meditation for increasing inner peace, better relationships and stress. (www.newkerala.com. April 15,2008)
B.Exercise
1.Exercise is great for the brain. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemical that leave you happier and mo re relaxed than you were before you worked out. Studies have shown daily exercise can boost your confidence, improve self esteem and can also help prevent depression. (Mayo Clinic Staff, www.mayoclinic.com , July 25, 2009.
2.The reason so many people blow off exercising is because they haven’t found an activity of interest. Physical exercise doesn’t have to be tedious. There are several gyms and organizations that offer classes such as ballroom dancing, kick boxing, spinning! Or you can enjoy the outdoors by hiking, swimming, football and basketball.     Being physically active is the most beneficial thing for the human body, physically and mentally. Exercise decreases the risks of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. It treats and prevents depression, increases muscle strength and cognitive function, and prevents obesity. The primary treatments include medication and therapy however exercise can treat and prevent depression just as well as medication in a lot of cases (Behrman, 2014). Heart disease is the number one cause of death in Americans. 1out of 4 deaths in America is the result of heart disease. The two main causes of heart disease are high cholesterol and blood pressure and are typically treated with statins and ACE inhibitors, however with proper exercise both of these issues can be controlled just as well and without side effects. As people grow older in age they can have a decline in cognitive ability, resulting in dementia such as Alzheimer’s. Staying active and exercising regularly keeps the brain healthy and elastic, preventing breakdown. Evidence suggests that regular exercise is more beneficial to our general health than taking medication because it decreases the risk of heart disease, decreases depression, increases cognitive function and has no chemical side effects.…
