I choose “In Cuba I Was a German Shepherd”, as the story of asylum is one of my favorite stories.
This is the story of a Cuban asylum family who lives in Miami. When he found "his university of Havana credentials meant nothing" (Menéndez, 2001); therefore, to survive Máximo and his wife Rosa started catering business which evolved into a small restaurant. After Rosa passed away, Máximo sold his properties and enjoy his old day with his friends.
