In The Mind Of A Seven Year Old
P. 2
Isaiah is a delightful seven year old boy who lives with his family in Chino. In his family are parents, Esther, Cesar and sisters; Sylvia and Samantha. Isaiah’s sisters are ten and eighteen months and his parents are in their forty’s. Upon entering their home, Isaiah had just come home from school and was like a tornado flowing through the house. He was quite indeed a rambonxious noisy seven year old who couldn’t stay still for a moment. During the course of the visit we did homework, had a snack, and played. Isaiah is only seven and just entered the third grade. He is full of personality, character, happiness and has loads of energy. At first glance, Isaiah is average build with an abundant amount of healthy brown hair and olive skin with several scabs that he seems to enjoy picking. He is approximately 93.9 months, 49.7 inches and 63 pounds. These numbers put him at the 46% percentile for height, 78% percentile for weight and a BMI of 18. According to the CDC guidelines, these numbers are appropriate for his age. At seven years of age, children grow at least two inches in height per year.
A normal pattern of growth for seven years old would be a weight of 39-66.5lbs and 44 to 51 inches. Maxillary central incisors and lateral incisors erupt, which allow the jaw to accommodate and expand for permanent teeth. During snack time Isaiah complained that one of his teeth were lose. The lateral incisor was somewhat loose when examining his mouth. He had some baby teeth and central incisors (front teeth) that were much bigger versus the baby teeth. Isaiah was proud of his teeth and implied that he gets money in his pillow each time he loses a tooth. Even though some teeth were loose, Isaiah had no problem speaking and using the correct sounds for (r) and (s), which is hard to do for some
