India and Chapter Young Historians
Our Chapter Young Historians

On a bright sunny day, we had our SSC class. When are teacher came and started discussing about what do historians do? And that’s we started our chapter ‘YOUNG
HISTORIANS ‘.
We compared the two maps and their conclusions were:
1)The 2nd map was more political one than map 1st
2)Map 2nd was more accurate.
3)The discoveries that were made in 1154 CE were much less than what it was during 18th century.
4) The distance between places during 1154 CE were not that well known compare to the 18th century.
We had fun comparing them.
Then we wrote things to be kept in mind by historians and they were Should know about the language
Should be able to collect audience.
Should keep in mind the context in which the word has been used.
4)
Should keep in mind reliability of the data. That was not so good and not so bad.

Second, we got a case study on term Hindustan .We wrote important points in the notebook paragraph. It told that
Hindustan is a land of rivers, Derived from a Persian word
Hind (Sindhu), Primarily the term “Hindustan” refers ( A river in Sanskrit) to Republic of India and it’s usually applied to the
Ganges Plain of North India, between the Himalayas in the north and the Deccan Plateau in the South. These were some information by me and some from my teacher. The conclusion was – Thus, it tell us that the term Hindustan involved in terms of the meaning in which it has been used due to the change in the context in which its used .We had learned a lot of about the term Hindustan .We had fun.
After some time, the days past. Now we were allotted in some and we had to make questions and interview some people. Our group had to interview col. Yadav, some teachers and some students of class XI and XII. Our task was to ask questions on school’s neighborhood .I and Hanan were partners and we had to ask people about “Other New Things made after the School was made”. They gave us a list of things from 2003

It is nearly impossible to realize the significance maps have on societies and culture without first disconnecting from the technologically driven reality we face today, and placing ourselves 400 years back in time…on that dark and dangerous ship in which John Smith was a passenger of. This paper will discuss not only the importance that Smith’s hand-written maps previously had and still currently possess, but also analyze their structural changes over time and how these changes correlate with the birth of a new nation in progress. Beyond the assimilation of key qualitative features of the sources, it is my hope to show that the maps contain much more information than the location of physical landmarks and city…

Impressions of an Indian Childhood and The School Days of an Indian Girl What is Gertrude Bonnin complaining about? Is she even complaining? She got to go to school and get an education for free. She even went on to go to college. Very few white Americans could say that in those days, much less Native Americans. Even today a free ride through college is a rare occurrence. Of course she experienced a few hardships along the way. Learning a new language was definitely a challenge for her in the beginning, although one she overcame quite well (after all, she did win an oratorical contest at her college). Living by the rules of a different culture was another challenge for her. But she eventually became accustomed to the new ways and she learned how to adjust. And of course she went through many years of discrimination and persecution, simply because of the fact that she is a Native American. But in the long run, wall the challenges she overcame helped to improve herself as an individual and as a representative of a culture. We must all go through hard times and face many difficult challenges in our lives if we want to make a better life for ourselves. As long as there are different races, racism will always exist. People like Gertrude Bonnin who can overcome racism and discrimination by succeeding in the "white man's world," are the people who help others like them be accepted in our…

During the Age of Imperialism, the British was rapidly taking control of India throughout the 1700’s and 1800’s, despite Indian opposition. British control in India all began after their victory at the Battle of Plassey in 1757 and Battle of Buxar in 1764. Following this battle, in 1765 Britain accepted administrative authority of Bengal. Then, proceeding over the next century, the British expanded their territorial control and influence through treaties, agreements, conquests and annexations leading them to the year 1857 when they controlled roughly two-thirds of India’s land and approximately four-fifths of the population. By the year of 1857 the British had gained complete political ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬control of India.…

In chapter two I had read about the emergence of civilization in India and the Harappan society. Approximately four thousand years ago the Aryan people moved southward which were settled in central Asia before. India has and still is country of diversity the religions Buddhism and Hinduism started in India. Also India is home to some of the highest mountains on earth which are the Himalaya and Karakoram mountain ranges. The Harappan civilization shared some of the cultures of Nile valley and Mesopotamia. The people of Harappan civilization had lived in small villages and settled in small red mud-brick homes. The people of the harappan civilization were raised on mostly agriculture which meant that barley, wheat and rice were their only crops. They were also the first to work with cotton seeds. The Harappan people started a trading network with the country Sumer. They would exchange lumber and copper for textiles and foodstuffs these products were imported by ships but rarely by land. Although the Harappan civilization came to an end in 1500 b.c.e. which is still a mystery to this day. The remains of the Harappan civilization were later destroyed by the Aryans which who were nomads that came from the north. The Aryans had arrived there around the second millennium. They were also the first to invent the horse-drawn chariots which gave them an advantage with their lives. Than in 1500 and 1000 b.c.e. the Aryans moved to the northern part of India. The Aryan people were intelligent they managed to create their own writing system that was based on the Aramaic script. As a consequence of living in a homogeneous area for my entire life, I crave change. My intrigue for the city of New Orleans began with The Princess and the Frog, the Disney movie from which the previous lyrics originate from. My nine year old self was drawn in by the representation of African Americans in mainstream media, however I left with the awareness of a vastly different culture. The diverse people, unique food, extravagant festivals, and rambunctious rhythms transformed my outlook on societal divisions. The intermingling of cultures was a foreign concept to me, I was surprised to find a community unionizing solely for the purpose of supporting a city. However, from that moment I desired a change in atmosphere, one that possessed these newfound qualities. This was then compounded with learning about the birth of jazz in my 8th grade music class. Reminiscing on the lesson, I remember jazz staples such as Buddy Bolden, Louis Armstrong, and King…

People might tend to think of a historian, particularly an instructor, as someone who has a fairly straightforward and simple profession. After all, history is already written. Thus, it should simply be a matter of just memorizing a series of facts. Of course, this is not the case. History as we understand it is a constantly evolving story about individuals, events, eras and cultures. In addition, modern historians frequently ask questions about our past in order to better understand our present. Historians use a wide range of methods in their attempt to answer their questions about what happened to our distant and not so distant ancestors. Any historian who wants to be taken seriously has to use a systematic approach and provide clear and verifiable evidence to support his contentions. Fortunately, the field of history provides a set of clearly laid out approaches that a historian can use in his work.…
