I agree with you to a certain point. I do agree that all children should be adopted no matter what their race is. However, I do take the stance that Indian children should be placed with only Indian parents. As you mentioned, the Indians have their own tribal laws, and they have a different cultural background with different norms that are accepted in society. But, you have to look from the aspect of if the child is placed into a Non-Indigenous parent’s care, the child will not have a chance to learn his or her culture. For example, I know an individual who is Native American, who is still trying to reconnect with her tribe. However, her tribe has shunned her and refuses to speak to her. She is not considered an Indian by the tribe.
