1.1 Introduction
Transportation exists to “provide for the movement of people and goods and for the provision and distribution of services… Transport thereby fulfil one of the most important functions and is one of the most pervasive activities in any society of economy” said Hoyle and Knowles (1998:1). According to Cole (2005:5) notes, “transport is a service rarely in demand for its own characteristics. Demand [from transport] is usually derived for some other function”. There are two types of transportation that is private transport and public transport. Both are important in one area as it served people who use it.

Racca and Ratledge(2004) cited from Fang Zhao(2002)which is a members of National Center for Transit Research(CTR) entitled “FSUTMS: Mode Choice Modelling: Factors Affecting Transit Use and Access” included that there is an identification of many of the factors that have been used in modelling.
As many studies concerned with the factor affecting mode choice for the journey to work, there were many version of factor based on the writer itself and their studies. D.A. Quarmby (1967) is one of those who had his study done with his article entitled “Choice of Travel Mode for The Journey to Work”. D.A. Quarmby (1967) also stated that the factor also can be the number of variables that can be put in to measure the relative attractiveness of different mode is not limited by the modal itself. Most of the factor also has been used in modelling modal split. There were some of the factors that may affect the mode choice such as:
