HISTORY You would hear the announcer shouting, “ Number 22, Jay Williams, from Duke University, starting point guard.” He went to St. Joseph’s and then attended the University of Duke. In high school he was “ The First Team All Player” in New Jersey. He contributed in the dunk slam contest scoring a 20. Jay averaged 10 points per games, 3 rebounds per game, and 5 assists per game. After the crash he had a lot of operations on all different parts and bones in his leg. Jay was put into 3 splints and was interviewed many times. In Fact, he was interviewed on ESPN (Entertaining and Sports Programming Network), one of the most famous channels around the world. 5 years later, when his knees and legs were all healed he tried out for the New Jersey Nets. He played on this team for less than a month then was asked to leave and released him. Not to long after he joined the Austin Toro’s of the NBA Development League. But then he was waived goodbye from the Toro’s because of this injury. About 5 years later, he decided that he would want to play with the Miami Heat. He tried out for the season of 2010-11 but was unsuccessful and was not picked up by the team. To pursue Jay’s dream job of staying connected with basketball, he is now a college basketball broadcaster.
In my opinion, Jay Williams has an amazing story that even though he regrets doing it, he has learned from this mistake and is now is a role model to many others. The Chicago Bulls is a well known team these days, and are struggling so far with an 0-3 record. That was a little about number 22, Jay
