Once again we use highlights and shadows but this time we are using them to create a character...to show emotion and make it easy for the audience to read facial emotion. In theater, much more makeup is usually used because theaters are usually large and the audience is further away... The amount of makeup is adjusted to compensate for different sized theaters.

The third type of makeup is photographic makeup. Photo makeup is very detailed and must b e flawless and symmetrical unless it is fantasy or fanciful. Failure to meet these requirements could cost a photographer hours of time retouching photos and could also result in the makeup artist not being hired again, after all time is money! Photographic makeup should be very beautiful and can be very creative or high fashion. Photo makeup is the type of makeup that is shown on shows like "America's next top model".

The fourth type of makeup is special effects makeup. Special effects makeup is the most difficult of all makeups because it often requires making prosthetic pieces make especially for the actor or actress. Once again, someone working on a film can be very creative (if key, and given ok by producer and director) if they are the key makeup artist. With this type of makeup, days and days of pre production prep time will

This interview with Thalia Zuniga compose of ideas of how makeup is expressive of a person’s individuality, how makeup is introduced, its relations with insecurities, and if it is considered an artistic form. For this project, at first, I had 3 initial ideas. The first one was to create a poster, advertising make up. The theme was “Photo Print Add for an Every Day Item”. I chose this, because I carry my make up with me every day. My initial idea is to take a picture of a girl, wearing the certain make up. It is going to be mascara, eye shadows or lipstick. The picture is going to be effective and with a good use of light. If it is a mascara advert, I might take a picture just of the eyes. For the lipstick, I am thinking of taking picture of the lips, with the lipstick, and the nails of the girl, painted in the same colour as the lipstick is. Also I have an idea to photograph the girls face, with a really strong make up, which is going to look really good on her.…
