Do you know many artist? Ever meet any famous ones? Well, I haven’t, but let me inform you about an Artist named Allan D’ Arcangelo. He was a pop artist, born from Buffalo, New York. His parents were both Italian immigrants. Born on June 16, of 1930. Unfortunately, today he isn’t here with us anymore. Mr. Arcangelo was only 68 years old when he passed away; the day he passed away was December 17, 1998, in New York City, New York. The information gathered from his family, is that the cause of death was leukemia. Leaving behind one daughter,Gabrielle; one son, Gideon; one brother, Mark; one sister, Bernadette. Sylvia Renick is who Allan D’ Arcangelo married, but as time passed by eventually divorced. Allan first got a bachelor’s degree in history, then was considering law school. He went to Manhattan, where he then started studying writing and education at City College. He

    The title of the painting I am critiquing is Nine Angels at Revival Zion by Allan "Zion" Johnson painted in 1987, which depicts Jamaica's Spirituality. This painting is located at the FIU Frost Art Museum. The medium used by the artist was oil on hardboard, the surface of the painting was smooth with a few rough spots due to the natural element of the board. Some of the formal elements used throughout the painting are intense hues of red and blues with lighter shades of green and orange.
