Something as simple as sharing your umbrella with someone even if it means you get a little wet or be nice to their friends (Martin 1). Imagine a world where everyone is doing nice things for other people not to get something out of it, but just because it is the right thing to do (Price 1). I love to see a smile on someone’s face because it is a great feeling to know that you made someone else’s day better simply by being a gracious human being. Everyone, both men and women need to know when to give and receive. By that I mean I want men to be more chivalrous towards women and I want women to acknowledge the act of chivalry given to them by the men. These roles can be reversed in this day and age, it is called equality. Not every woman will call men a sexist misogynistic pig for opening a door for them. The same goes for women, not every man out there is doing something nice to try and get something out of it. Chivalry is simply an act of kindness without any ulterior motive. In a recent poll that I conducted online in which 25 of my peers participated in where I had asked them one question “Is Chivalry Dead?” 18 people said no and 7 people said yes (Nguyen 1). I was very glad to see that there are many people in my generation who still believes in chivalry. Through courtesy, honesty, and respect will people understand that chivalry is not dead.
