Teens and young adults are most often affected. Chlamydia is considered a silent condition because most of those infected experience no symptoms, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control
(CDC). Symptoms that do appear usually occur within one to three weeks of the infection. In woman the symptoms are bleeding between periods, pain during intercourse, vaginal discharge, lower abdominal pain and many more. In men they include penis discharge, burning or pain while urinating, burning or itching in opening of penis and many more as well. When chlamydia is untreated it can be serious for both men and women. In this STD for women it can result in a pelvic inflammatory disease, which can damage the ovaries, uterus, and fallopian tubes. In men, a chlamydia infection can lead to conditions such as prostatitis, an inflammation of the prostate gland; or epididymitis, an inflammation of the coiled tube internally located beside each testicle.

Individuals that are infected with genital herpes experience either no symptoms or mild symptoms that go unnoticed. Because of this most people are unaware of their infection. When symptoms do occur they appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals, rectum or mouth. The blisters can pop and leave painful sores that take two to four weeks to heal. Individuals get genital herpes by having sex with someone that has the disease. Meaning oral vaginal or anal sex.
